Rep. Salud Carbajal proudly represents the 24th Congressional District of California, which includes the entirety of Santa Barbara County and portions of San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties. Congressman Carbajal sits on the House Committees on Armed Services, Agriculture, and Transportation and Infrastructure, where he serves as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation. Salud emigrated from Mexico to the United States at age 5, earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB), and later earned a master’s degree in organizational management from Fielding University. Salud also served eight years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, including being mobilized to active-duty service during the 1992 Gulf War. Salud is married to Gina, and they have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren.
