He assembled a new management team that introduced modern corporate practices. He oversaw a record expansion of the resource base, initiated large-scale investment in the modernization of the company, secured more than UAH 10 billion in credit facilities from Ukrainian banks, and obtained EUR 80 million in financing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the construction of distributed gas-fired generation facilities. He secured agreements for EUR 850 million in financing from the EBRD and the European Investment Bank, as well as UAH 27 billion in credit financing from Ukrainian banks, to purchase imported gas and build strategic reserves.
